There are times when the Federal,
State and Local Government or corporations need a "One-Button"
solution for all their disaster needs. Incident Catering
Services can provide base camps with all the necessary
resources including: billeting, kitchens, food, dining facilities,
showers, laundry facilities, restrooms, generators, air conditioning
and even a recreation facility. We have the largest fleet of
its type in the nation.
Beginning in 2005,
we responded to the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief efforts with
several units. ICS provided over one million meals at four separate
base camps in Louisiana, easily serving more than 2,000 people
during numerous single meal periods. We provided two kitchens at
the Jackson Support Base located at Jackson Square in the heart of
New Orleans’ French Quarter, working under the US Forest Service.
We stationed
additional kitchens at Belle Chasse and Port Sulfur, working
directly with FEMA. ICS also partnered with a master contractor,
which was itself contracted with FEMA to operate at a camp located at McNeese University in Lake Charles. Additionally we provided
equipment to a third company which held a private contract in New
Orleans and also provided personnel and supplies to the medical unit
at the New Orleans Convention Center under FEMA.
The Jackson Square
base camp alone served over half of a million meals during its’
duration and ICS has served over 10,000 meals in a single day at one
site on numerous occasions.
